The Beer Market in Rochester

The place was hyped up by friends as having 300 beers and I was disappointed to see barely 30 beers. The food is decent. The service is fast.Update: bumped it up to 5 stars on account that the owner cares to reply and Covid affecting the beer selection. Will definitely give it another shot when I am in town.

We stopped in because we are next door at spectrum just to see what it was all about was very impressed the bartender was very knowledgeable about the over 50 different beers on tap also in bottles and cans also had wine food looked fantastic although we did not order any

Good food. Good beer. Decent prices. Indoors gets very loud. Outdoor seating is a plus. If you like a wide selection of craft beers and your usual bar fare with a decent pizza selection this is a good choice.

Donny the manager, he is always down for a good time and always makes the beer market feel welcoming. He and the staff are very knowledgeable on the beers they serve as well as the food. If you're on what to get they will gladdly direct you to something. Get the pretzelGet a pizza Bring your dog , outside patio only.. but still .😊

I love visiting this place with my friends for drinks since this place has lovely atmosphere and live music which is just amazing. I visited last weekend with my friends and we enjoyed a lot. The food is just superb and the staff is very polite and friendly. Service is very fast and i would recommend you to visit this place.

Not what I expected based on reviews. Had to ask for a server to come over after a hostess already sat us. Only ordered appetizers BC we didn't feel like waiting for more. Service was dismissive and unwelcoming.

I enjoyed everything about this place. Just wish the chicken breast wasnt so thick on the sandwich.

I really Like the atmosphere and the different types of seating that they have, whether it’s the bar area, high top, outside or a regular table. They have SO MANY beers on tap and the pretzel is to die for. It’s huge! Their pizzas are also delicious. I will continue to go here for my happy hours!

My family and I have been going here since they opened a few years ago. We love the Big Pretzel. We haven't been in awhile and when we went a few days ago the manager actually remembered what we order. We usually have my daughters birthday parties here. Their not a very big place but they always make room for us. We Love it here! I highly recommend it. Great food and great beer selection. Great service!

Super inaccessible and the staff isn't really interested in creating any kind of accommodation. If you are in a wheelchair i'd go somewhere else. This business owner really loves the high top tables there are only 3 low top tables and once they are taking you are out of luck.

Highly recommend you order the big cheese pizza... Even though they don't list it on the menu anymore you can still order it. They have a massive beer selection, the place isn't really busy, I'd say more on the comfortable side of things where you should be able to get a seat. Staff is always friendly and the beers always ice cold!

Showed up 5 minutes before their kitchen closed and were seated but not told (and not given food menu). Waiter came back after it officially closed and let us know. Waste of time, and inconsiderate.

Cool place! I love it. They serve tasty and generously sized (but not humongous) pizza. The beer selection is absolutely huge. During the week they even host trivia games. The atmosphere then becomes electric! The only drawback? Every time I go there, the beer I chose (a different one every time) is not available. It looks as if their inventory cannot accomodate the full range of beers listed on the menu. That is only my perception... But then the waiter doesn't let you down and always give you an advice on a beer you may like. ;-)

Absolutely delicious! My only con would be that we did not realize there was going to be a live band and it was VERY loud and impossible to talk with the people I was with. Overall though it was so good and I will definitely be back!

This place is awesome. We went for the first time this past Sunday to catch the end of the pats game. We had planned on just grabbing a beer but ended up with a pizza and man was it good, we got the Popeye pizza with pepperoni soooo good! The beers are great as well but the service was the best part. I wish I could remember our servers name but he was just returning from being off for 2 weeks. He was great 100% the reason we will be back! Thank you so much!

Decent selection for beer. Food was so-so. It was crazy loud in there too for not even being packed. Pretty short staffed as well.

Our first time with my friend here. This particular experience was amazing. The waitress was so nice and friendly. She was on top of all our food and drinks.

The Beer Market is a nice big place. Lots of tv's and great food!. I asked the bartender for his suggestions on a type of beer I might like. He was right on! They have an amazing book of everything they have to offer. I even tried a cider as well. We had a Great time being there. (Ladies, the bathrooms are large and very clean😉)

Not big on beer but I liked the huge pretzel. It's weird they don't give out straws anymore. I dislike forced liberal progressive agendas, so it makes me not want to go back, but everything else brand wise was great!

Great beer and food selection. Patio is a great place to bring a dog!! There are fire pits (gas ones so you won't smell like smoke) for when it's a bit chilly at night, and they always bring my pup a water bowl!

I have always love this place and come every weekend since they opened this bar. I have agood and bad service experiences sometimes but depends on the server tho. And I really miss the guy who always served me last year, recommended me with good drinks. As soon as I walked in he knows what I want and never failed me but now I had to explain them over and over a gain, since I am really bad at beers naming. However I like the place it’s beautiful especially during summer, this place has been my faves pots since they open.

Watch out for this place and check your receipts. They don't actually apply the happy hour discount and hope you don't notice.EDIT: Sure, I'll just put the details here. I visited on the 24th around 5. Upon receiving a check for the wrong amount, I informed the bartender. She said that they don't apply the happy hour discount and she'd have to get a manager to do it. The manager came out and applied the discount. (He hadn't been out the entire time I was there which must mean that everyone else was paying full price.) Then, they both failed to provide a VOID receipt claiming that they did it on a machine that doesn't print receipts. So I paid the discounted amount and left. I followed up with my credit card company later to ensure the VOID actually happened.If it's your policy that bartenders can't apply discounts and the manager uses a machine that doesn't print receipts, then it's pretty shady.

They have plenty of beer to choose from, they have amazing appetizers, and the atmosphere is cozy. Definitely get the pretzel and a pizza if you go!

My wife and I cruised in to town late in a Friday night and stopped in for a late meal and some drinks. Their beer list is very impressive. Lots of local brews and high end stuff from around the world. Our server had a working knowledge of styles and products served, had a nice chat about beer, comparing our tastes and preferences etc. Really liked the Rohrbach Milk and Cookies milk stout.Food ranged from light bites to full meals. Our corn fritters and artichoke dip were awesome. Great service, awesome beer served well. Loud but chill vibe. We will be back.

Highly recommended to come here with an empty stomach because it will be full when you leave! Great selection of dark, light beers and then everything in between. The staff know their products and has the environment of a pub. Great place for a giant German pretzel or pizza. Ask for the bartender Allison, she's a wild girl with great tastes and isn't scared to let you know what's delicious!

The size of the crowd does tell you the popularity of the place, good place to hangout with friends. Great pizza by the way. The items in the menu are always good. Wish I could taste all their items

I had a nice time here. I had a passion fruit and wild berry cider and they were both the best cider i have ever had! The Bavarian pretzel is a must! Had a turkey club for din din which was good. Service was very slow. Other than that, I enjoyed my time, the food and good environment.

Best place to drink your beer

Based on other reviews, I looked forward to an enjoyable experience. I was able to seat myself immediately and my waitress was very friendly. When I ordered my drink, the waitress informed me that the establishment was out of sparking wine ,which is used in half there cocktail menu. I understand things like this happen and requested they modify my drink with Prosecco. She returned to the table a few minutes later to advise they wanted to up charge me $10 to open the bottle. I was taken aback. I feel this was poor customer service. They were much better ways to handle their lack of inventory. I will not be returning.

Tons of beers and great food. Had the Buffalo chicken pizza and the taters tots. I will be eat here again.

We have gone to the beer market every year since it opened. Never disappointed. Love trying different beers whenever we go. Always talking to those that work there and take care of us. Service is always fast. The Bavarian (barbarian) pretzel is the best that can be had. Love the place

Was very good! I only give it 4 stars because we had 4 people and 3 of us had to change orders more than once due to lack of supplies in the kitchen after we placed the order.

I ate a pretzel as big as a pizza, then I ate a pizza. It was even more delicious and satisfying than it looks.

One of the best places in college town. No other place in town can beat the shear number of choices they offer. If you want some quick bite along with ur cold drink, go for a pizza.

This is a great place to go have a beer or a drink, get some food which is great, especially the pizza. love the atmosphere, the staff was amazing and friendly, plus the prices are great too. Definitely recommend this to anyone in the Rochester area

The Beer Market just looked like fun from the outside. Unfortunately, a loved one is in Strong and it's pretty serious. We wanted to grab a bite to eat close by and take a break from the hospital scene, this place just looked warm and inviting with tables outside around an outdoor fire. The inside is casual classy. Our waitress, Jasmine absolutely made our night. It's been a rough couple of days for our family and she was breath of fresh air. So accommodating she knows the menu extremely well and explained how we should go about ordering. She brought over beers for us to try, she encouraged my son to enter a raffle and he won! She was so happy for him. She knows the beers well enough to recommend one that matches your craving. We all ordered wraps, the fillings were so fresh. We couldn't have been more pleased it was just what we needed. We will definitely go back to the Beer Market for the accommodating, knowledgeable and courteous staff, especially Jasmine.
